Twente jumped to the top of the Dutch league a week ago and this weekend could well allow Steve McClaren’s men to extend their advantage as they face a relatively easy opponents while principal rivals PSV play against Ajax. As such, the Enschede outfit will be all the more motivated to earn a victory in this game.
ADO continue to struggle near the bottom of the league, currently occupying 16th place. Last week, the side were held to a 1-1 draw by Vitesse, whereas a win would have led them to safety.
Twente are extremely dominant in matches with ADO, having won all of the last seven encounters. ADO last won in the Dutch Cup in 2005, when they beat Twente on penalties.
McClaren is still without a number of players, as Vagif Javadov, Blaise N’Kufo, David Carney, Luis Wellington and Nashat Akram are all injured.
ADO’s Timothy Derijck is suspended for this match, while Ricky van den Bergh, Lorenzo Pique, Mitchell Pique, Aleksandr Rankovic and Lex Immers are injured.
Twente are highly favored to win this match and create some more breathing space at the top.
